The Hands On Technology Transfer SQL and T-SQL training curriculum offers a task-oriented, cost effective approach to learning universal Structured Query Language (SQL) or Microsoft's Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for working with databases. Comprehensive hands on exercises are integrated throughout to reinforce learning and develop real competency. All courses consist of 50% hands-on lab exercises during class time. SQL training courses may be attended in-person in the classroom, online from your home via live remote attendance, or through on demand training at your convenience.
SQL Programming and Database Design | Duration | Price: Live Delivery | Price: On-Demand |
---|---|---|---|
SQL Programming | 3 days / 21 hours | $1695 | $1495 |
Microsoft Transact-SQL Programming | 5 days / 35 hours | $2495 | $1495 |
Relational Database Design Concepts | 3 days / 21 hours | $1695 | $1495 |
The SQL Programming course provides training on universal Structured Query Language (SQL) that is used by many relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server. Students will also learn fundamental relational database design concepts, so that they better understand the structure of a SQL database and can navigate them more effectively. Upon completion, participants will understand SQL functions, join techniques, database objects and constraints, and will be able to write useful SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements. Hands on exercises are performed throughout training each day to reinforce key concepts. No prior database experience is necessary to attend this course.
Attendees who know that they will be working specifically with Microsoft SQL Server may instead be better served by taking the 5-day Microsoft Transact-SQL Programming course offered by HOTT. In addition to covering everything in the 3-day SQL Programming course, it contains an additional 2 days of coverage of T-SQL functionality that is specific to Microsoft SQL Server.
The Microsoft Transact-SQL Programming course teaches students relational database fundamentals and SQL programming skills in the Microsoft SQL Server environment. Topics covered include relational database architecture, database design techniques, and simple and complex query skills. The course also covers Microsoft-specific T-SQL programming constructs, creation and use of stored procedures and user-defined functions, and use of cursors and updateable views. Lab exercises during class utilize Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Attendees who are fairly certain that they will NOT be working with Microsoft SQL Server may instead be better served by taking the shorter 3-day SQL Programming course offered by HOTT. It covers SQL syntax, SQL programming skills, and database design concepts that are universal across RDBMSes (MySQL, Oracle, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server), and forgoes coverage of T-SQL functionality that is specific to Microsoft SQL Server and therefore not applicable to other database systems.
The Relational Database Design Concepts course imparts relational database design skills and techniques to class attendees, with emphasis on data integrity and efficiency at the same time. Students will also learn SQL syntax so that they will have appropriate querying capability and can effectively interact with their databases and properly manage relational tables.
Instructor was excellent! Great knowledge of all aspects of SQL and more. I would recommend him to anyone needing SQL training. Looking forward to using what I learned.
